Paper Players Sketch Challenge

Happy Tuesday Peeps!
today I am sharing a card I made using the challenge this week on the The Paper Players Blog.

Here is the sketch:

I usually shy away from these kind of sketches, the kind with small repeating elements. Even tho I LOVE do sketch challenges, this kind generally make the hairs on the back of my neck curl!! LOL!!
But after thinking about this one for a bit, I thought some pretty daisies might look cute.
I did vary it just a bit, by not putting my flowers in a straight line I was able to get the three on there and still have room for the sentiment at the bottom AND keep my card a standard size.

I used crumb cake, daffodil delight and whisper white for my colors. I added a bit of green in the leaves with some pear pizzazz.
I think the card is pretty self explanatory so I am not going into much detail but if you have a question just shoot me an e-mail. I am coming down with a bug, coughing, sneezing, snotting and chilling so I am out of here.
HAPPY STAMPING!!

Unscripted Sketch Challenge

Happy Monday Peeps!!!
Today I am sharing a card I made using the sketch challenge on the Unscripted Sketches Blog.
I was inspired by a card I first saw on Pintrest , which lead me to HERE. I wanted to make that cute little flower and using my Stampin UP supplies.

Can you guess what stamp I used for the flower petal? I used one of the stamps from the Up, Up & Away  stamp set. The hot air balloon stamp is a bit large for the petal but it works and still looks cute I think!
I stamped three "petals" onto some whisper white card stock with cherry cobbler ink and cut them out. I used a button from the brights collection for the flower center. I drew a curve onto the piece of basic gray card stock and stitched in the stem with some white embroidery floss and a needle

The base of the card is white and them I used basic gray and some DSP from the Twitterpatted paper pack.

I used soem cherry cobbler seam binding across the bottom portion, scrunching it up a bit. I added an antique brad under the sentiment panel.
The sentiment comes from the Curly Cute stamp set and was stamped onto the white confetti card stock with black stazon.  I roughed up the edges of the sentiment flag with the edge of my scissors and cut a v in the end, curled it a bit and tucked it under the edge of the ribbon.
I added a brad to the top corners.
Thanks for stopping by today and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

SSSC153....Thank You

Happy Sunday Peeps!!

It is time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.

Here is the SWEET sketch Karen has for us this week:

Not much stamping going on on this card, and funny thing, it took me forever to finish!!!
I started out with the pretty Stampin Up Beau Chateau DSP. I pulled my colors from the paper, Soft Suede, Pink Pirouette and Marina Mist.
The rooster image is cut from the DSP and then I mounted it to a soft suede scallop circle.
I made three rolled flowers with some pink pirouette and marina mist card stock. I used my 1-3/8 inch circle punch to make the flowers.

I added some basic pearls to the flower centers and punched a few leaves out with the bird punch.
I am not sure what set the sentiment is from, it is a stamp that got misplaced from it's case a long long time ago and now resides in the teeny tiny wishes set and altho that is not it's original home it likes it there. :)

I curled the edge of the back panel and put a contrasting piece of paper in there to add a little interest.

I hope you can find some time to play along with us this week, I would love to see what you come up with, create a card or scrapbook page with this sketch and then go to Karen's blog and link up your project for all of us to see.

OK, let's see what the rest of the Sweet Sunday Sketch Team, and Guest Designer has in store for us this week:

OCC....Over the Edge

Happy Saturday Peeps!!!
It is time for another Our Creative Corner Challenge.
This week our hostess with the mostest is the fabulous Tui Nathan and she has another fun challenge for us:

This week the challenge I have for you is "Over the Edge" - create a card, or paper craft item with a design element that is not restricted to the boundaries of the card edges, and continues to flow off the edge of the card, for instance this could be a die cut element, a sentiment banner, a fussy cut image, ribbon etc. Push your design to the edge .... and have fun!

I wasn't sure about this one until I got a bit of direction from Tui,  just extend something over the edge, I can do that!!
I used some new goodies, the Stampin Up Mixed Bunch and matching punch!  I also used the lattice die. I choose to use Crumb Cake and Cherry Cobbler card stock along with some Whisper White. I originally was making a square card but decided to make it a standard size so I added on the bottom piece, it is hidden by the ribbon. It is 4-1/2 inches wide tho so I guess not really standard but with the leaves and sentiment flag off the edges it wouldn't fit in a regular envelope anyway.

Be sure to check the Our Creative Corner Blog
to see what the rest of the design team came up with for this fun challenge.
I hope you can find some time to play along and if you do, don't forget to link it up over on the Our Creative Corner Blog so we can all see it!

Thanks for stopping by today and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

SC373....So Sweet

Happy Thursday Peeps!!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the sketch challenge this week on Splitcoaststampers.
I pulled out this old set from Stampin Up called "Sun Ripened"
I love this image, I stamped with black stazon onto some confetti white card stock and used my aqua painter and ink pads to color. I used Rich Razzleberry and Always Artichoke inks.

The base of the card is the same confetti card stock and then I used some rich razzleberry and always artichoke card stock for the rest of the card. The Always Artichoke card stock was embossed with the square lattice EF. The Rich Razzleberry scallop strip is made with the Perfect Trimmings Die and embossed with the Perfect Dots EF.
I added some silver pearls along the scallops and at the top corner.
I made a pretty little tailored bow with some rich razzleberry satin ribbon. I think the satin ribbon is my favorite embellishment, I love the pretty bows that you can achieve with that ribbon.
Well, that is all from me today, thanks so much for stopping by and
HAPPY STAMPING!!!

CC363.....Sending Many Thanks

Happy Hump Day Peeps!!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the Color challenge this week on Splitcoaststampers. The colors to use are Pretty in Pink, basic gray and Pink Pirouette.
I knew right away when I saw the colors that I wanted to use this DSP, it is the Stampin Up Lap of Luxury it is retired but I love it and it has the pretty in pink and basic gray.
I used the new Up in the Air hostess stamp set from Stampin Up.
The sentiment on here is from the Petite Pairs stamp set.
I stamped the image with black stazon onto the white card stock and colored it in with my aqua painter and ink pads.
I did add a bit of old olive and island indigo besides the challenge colors while coloring.
I used some basic gray satin ribbon across the bottom of the image panel and tied a bow.
I added a punched border across the top and the pink pirouette is matted directly under the main image panel.
I used a punch from the Itty Bitty punch pack to make the little flowers on the image and sentiment piece.
I finished it off with some pretty basic pearls.
Well, that is all from me today, thanks for stopping by and
HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Gift Card Holders Revisted

Happy Tuesday Peeps!!
As I have said before I have a large card order and I have been working on and off  getting it done. She had aslo request a couple of gift card holders, I made this design originally back in  November 2010, you can see the original post HERE. It has become the most popular post on my blog, it contains the directions for making it, if you are interested.
She had requested that I make the gift card holders with a birthday theme, so here is one of them.

Whatcha think?
This one uses some DSP from the Sweet Shop paper pack and the big flower comes from the retired pretties kit. The "birthday" sentiment is from the Something to Celebrate stamp set.
My next one has a more masculine feel:

The paper is from the Morning Mocha paper pack.

These are so fun  and easy to make, next time you need a gift card holder give em a try or better yet make you up a few for your stash so they are ready when you need it!!

Thanks for stopping by today and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Unscripted Sketch Challenge

Good Monday Morning Peeps!!
Today I am sharing a card made with the Unscripted Sketches Challenge.  This is the lovely sketch;

I went with a cute CAS design. I started the card with a base of Pool Party cardstock and then I followed that up with some white and the DSP is from the Domestic Goddess paper pack.
The sweet little bunny is from the Stampin Up "Everybunny" stamp set. I stamped the image twice and colored it with my aqua painter and ink pads. I then cut it out and added it to the main image panel with some dimensionals.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set and is stamped with black stazon.

I added some Pool Party seam binding ribbon across the bottom and tied a bow.
I used one of the punches from the Itty Bitty Punch pack to make the three flowers across the bottom. They are not quite in the same place as the sketch but close. I added some basic pearls to the flower centers and to the top corners.
Well, that is all from me, thanks for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

411Sketch

Happy Sunday Peeps!!

I thought I would give the sketch challenge on the Stamping 411 blog a go and since I wanted to use the Stampin Up "Just My Type" stamp set I went with another black and white, well vanilla in this case, with a splash of color card!
I stamped the typewriter with black craft ink and embossed with clear embossing powder, it is so pretty and shiny IRL.  I stamped the "thank you" onto the paper are but I smudged it a bit so I stamped it again and made a little sentiment flag. Not how I wanted to do it, I wanted it to be directly on the paper like it was typed but it didn't work out that way. It is all good tho, I like the little flag sentiment piece. I added a small red flower punched with one of the small punches from the Itty Bitty punch pack and I used a small black rhinestone that came from the retired, I got them off the clearance rack awhile back, Black Flourishes in the flower center. The DSP is retired as well, it is from the Newsprint pack. I thought it went with the "typewriter" theme.

I used some basic black for the base and the next layer is very vanilla. I embossed a small strip of black with the square lattice EF for the bottom. The red is a strip punched with the scallop edge punch. I finished it up with some real red satin ribbon and a few more black rhinestones at the top!

Well, thanks for stopping by today and
HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

OCC...Black & White with a Splash

Happy Saturday Peeps!!!
It is time for another Our Creative Corner Challenge.
This week our hostess with the mostest is the fabulous Tui Nathan and she has fun challenge for us:

Black and White with a splash of Colour"  Create a card, or paper craft item with the colours Black and White, then add a splash of a colour of your choosing.

I had this wonderful pack of DSP, Morning Mocha by Stampin UP and hadn't broken into it yet, so this challenge was the perfect opportunity. This black piece is gorgeous with a flocked design.
I added my "splash" of color by making a red flower using the Floral Fusion die.

I used the little leaves die and made my white leaves. I added some large pearls and black satin ribbon.
I think this card would be great for a wedding or anniversary card but since I am not in the need for one of those, I choose to make it a "thank you". The sentiment on here is from the "Thank You Kindly" stamp set.

Be sure to check the Our Creative Corner Blog
to see what the rest of the design team came up with for this fun challenge.
I hope you can find some time to play along and if you do, don't forget to link it up over on the Our Creative Corner Blog so we can all see it!

SC372.....Many Thanks

Happy Friday Peeps!!!

Toady I am sharing a card made using the sketch challenge this week on Splitcoaststampers.
I love this color combo altho it is not one I play with alot. I used Concord Crush and Wisteria Wonder along with whisper white and the DSP is from the Sweet Shop paper pack.

I just got the Lattice Die this week, so I had to try it out, not sure why I waited so long to get it. I love the look of it. On my card here it looks almost like a trellis that my flowers are growing on.
I used the Flower Fusion die to make my flowers. I laid each layer onto the foam piece from my matt pack and used my stylus to make small circles on each petal , applying a bit of pressure the petals curl up a bit. I layered each pieced alternating each petal and then added a large pearl to the center.

The sentiment on here is from the Petite Pairs stamp set and is stamped with black stazon onto the white circle. I used my 1-3/8 inch circle and 1-1/2 inch circle punches to make the sentiment piece.

Well, that is all from me today, thanks for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

CC362....Happy Birthday

Happy Hump Day Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card made with the color challenge this week on Splitcoaststampers.
This week the colors to use are Night of Navy, Crumb Cake, Bashful Blue and of course Neutrals of your choice.
I was inspired by this beauty by Heather Klump while making my card.

I started my card with a base of Night of Navy and then followed that with some Bashful Blue and then some
Crumb Cake that I embossed with the Stampin Up Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing folder. I sponged some distressing ink onto the crumb cake to bring out the stripes. I curled the edges a bit too.

My main image is made up with the Labels Collection Framelits Die. I first stamped this beautiful piece from the Apothecary Art stamp set onto some whisper white with black stazon and colored with my aqua painter and night of navy ink, I added some old olive to color the leaves and outlined a bit with some crumb cake ink.
I cut out the image by hand and then used the die for the next two layers, one in night of navy and one in some DSP from the Cheerful Treat paper pack. I added a paper lace doily behind it all. I sponged the doily a bit with some more distressing ink.
I used some night of navy satin ribbon across the bottom and tied a bow. I finished it off with a few basic pearls on the flowers and corners of the card.
The sentiment is from the Happiest Birthday Wishes stamp set.
Thanks so much for stopping by today and
 HAPPY STAMPING!!!

SSSC152.....Happy Birthday

Happy Sunday Peeps!!

It is time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.

Here is the SWEET sketch Karen has for us this week:

One of the good things about doing this sketch challenge every other week is it gives me alot more time to come up with something I like, that is also what is BAD about having that extra week. I tend to over think everything I do and that goes double for my card making! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE most sketch challenges but the ones with small repeating elements like this one tend to freak me out a bit!  I never know what exactly to do with them.
These cute little flowers I used on my card are from the Stampin Up "Array of Sunshine" stamp set. I had stamped them cut them out and layered them up for another project I was working on and then couldn't make them work. I laid them aside and they were still laying on my desk when I started to think about this sketch.
they worked out great for the small square elements on the sketch.

The base of the card is daffodil delight card stock and the DSP on here is from the Pocketful of Posies paper pack. I have been hooked on using these rhinestone and pearl swirls lately, (non SU). On this card I used some clear rhinestone swirls made by Prima.
The sentiment is from the "A word For You" stamp set and is stamped with black stazon onto white. I cut the ends and curled it to create the "flag".

OCC...Best Friend Challenge

Happy Saturday Peeps!!!
It is time for another Our Creative Corner Challenge.
This week our hostess with the mostest is the fabulous Sharon Wheet and she has another fun challenge for us:
Make a paper craft item (card, scrapbook page layout, a 3-D item, an altered item) for a Best Friend! It can be for a birthday, a thank you, or to just let her know she is your best friend!  The only other requirement, is to include a flower!  The flower can be hand-made, an embellishment, or a stamp.
I have a slight obsession with this flower stamp from the Stampin Up Bordering on Romance stamp set.
I stamped it onto some confetti card stock twice and colored with my aqua painter and ink pads. I used Peach Parfait, Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade and Pool Party. I used some Crumb Cake ink around the edges.
The DSP used here is the Everyday Enchantment paper that is available during SAB. I added some basic pearls to the image, for the flower centers and around the spray.

The sentiment on here is from the Friendly Words wheel, I had unmounted this wheel a long time ago and had not done anything else with it. I decided it was time so I got it out to use on this card. I cut out the section I wanted to use and mounted it to some cling mount foam. Easy Peasy, don't know why I waited!!!
I added a small pool party butterfly to the main image piece which is cut and matted with my circle and scallop circle nesties. I used the confetti card stock for my base and some peach parfait for the mats. I finished this off with a couple of pearls in the top corners and a strip of peach parfait ribbon across the DSP.

Be sure to check the Our Creative Corner Blog
to see what the rest of the design team came up with for this fun challenge.
I hope you can find some time to play along and if you do, don't forget to link it up over on the Our Creative Corner Blog so we can all see it!

SC371.....Happy Birthday

Happy Thursday Peeps!!!

Today I am sharing a card made using this week's sketch challenge on Splitcoaststampers.

I used some of the pretty Beau Chateau DSP and pulled colors from it, Soft Suede and Pink Pirouette and I used Sahara Sand for my base.

The flowers come from the Stampin Up Field Flowers stamp set. I stamped with Pink Pirouette and Regal Rose ink.

The tilted panel is Pink Pirouette that I embossed with the square lattice EF and matted with soft suede card stock.
I added a small pearl swirl to this panel.  The sentiment is from the Teeny tiny Wishes stamp set.
A couple of buttons and some jute twine finishes it off.
Well, that is all from me today, thanks for stopping by and

Happy Hump Day Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card I made last week, using the sketch on the The Paper Players Blog.  I started this on Wednesday or Thursday but didn't actually get it finished til this past weekend which was too late to link up there but I thought I would share it anyway.
I liked this sketch, it was a fun one to work with. I used the Greeting Card Kids stamp set for my main image, I have used this set alot but I don't think I have ever colored this little girl's dress green. I used Lucky Limeade to color it with and paired it up with the SAB Everyday Enchantment DSP.

The sentiment comes from the You Are Loved stamp set and I used one of the Adorning Accents EF across the middle. I finished it off with some silver pearls and crochet trim ribbon.
Well, that is all from me for now, have a great day and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Thank You for your Kindness

Happy Sunday Peeps!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the sketch challenge this week on the Stamping 411 Blog.

I used the Twitterpatted DSP and some basic gray and lucky limeade card stock to make my card.
The stamp set I used is the "Love & Sympathy" stamp set from Stampin Up. the sentiment is from "Occasional Quotes" stamp set.
I used my markers in Riding Hood Red and Old Olive to color in the image.
The tilted panel behind the main image is some lucky limeade card stock that I embossed with the perfect dots EF.

The bottom strip is more of the Twitterpatted  DSP and I added some scallops across the bottom that was made with the adorning accents edgelits die and  matching EF. I added a few basic pearls to the scallops and to the top corners and one on the flower. The sketch has an element at the bottom that I had overlooked during the first part of my card making so I had to work something in there so I added a bit of riding hood red pleated ribbon, I kinda like the pop of color it adds.
Well, that is all from me today, thanks for stopping by and
HAPPY STAMPING!!!

OCC...Love Is In The Air

Happy Saturday Peeps!!!
It is time for another Our Creative Corner Challenge.
This week our hostess with the mostest is the fabulous Sharon Wheet and she has a fun challenge for us:

Make a St. Valentine's Day paper craft item (card, scrapbook page layout, 3-D item, or an altered item) using the colors: Pink, Grey, & Kraft.  Now add some sparkle, (rhinestones, glittle, metal) anything that shines!  And don't forget to include a heart shape.

I decided to make a couple of these fun little treat holders using the two tag die. HERE is a link to a tutorial for making this box. For mine I made one with basic gray and one with crumb cake card stock. the DSP I used is from the retired Love Impressions paper pack. I used the pinking hearts edge punch to make the trim along the edge of the designer paper.

I did sneak in a bit of red in the way of the wings one the birds which is made punched with the red glimmer paper. Of course you can see I used the bird punch  to make the decorations for front of my boxes. The sweet little music notes is from a tiny punch I found recently at a local store. Toooo Cute!!!
The sentiment is for the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set. I matted those with some pink pirouette card stock. I added a small heart with a silver brad to the handle.
I filled a couple of cello bags with some kisses and tied them up with some pink ribbon. I think my sweet little neighbor ladies will get these for Valentine's!
Be sure to check the Our Creative Corner Blog
to see what the rest of the design team came up with for this fun challenge.
I hope you can find some time to play along and if you do, don't forget to link it up over on the Our Creative Corner Blog so we can all see it!
