OCC.....For Mom

Happy Saturday Peeps!!
It is time for another new challenge at Our Creative Corner.
Our hostess this week is the uber talented Anne Marie Hile and she has a fun challenge for us:

"A Recipe for Mom" Mother's Day Challenge
Create a project for Mother's Day using the following "recipe":
*Embossing (wet or dry)
*Ribbon
*Buttons or Brads
*Watercoloring

My Mom is no longer living and I find making Mother's Day cards a little hard. She has been gone almost 12 years and I still miss her dearly! So, Mom this one is for you!
I tried to make it cheery, I know my Mom would have loved it!
The base of the card is confetti white card stock. I used the same confetti for the main image. I stamped the flowers from the Stampin Up "Simply Soft" stamp set with black stazon and water colored with my aqua painter using some Pool Party ink. I used the so pretty Labels framelits to cut out the main panel.

I cut a doily out with some pool party card stock and the DSP is from the Attic Boutique paper pack.
I used some more pool Party card stock across the bottom that I embossed with the square lattice EF.
I added some white brads at the top and some pearls to the flowers and the butterfly.
I finished it off with some white satin ribbon.
The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.

Be sure to check the Our Creative Corner Blog
to see what the rest of the design team came up with for this fun challenge.
I hope you can find some time to play along and if you do, don't forget to link it up over on the Our Creative Corner Blog so we can all see it!

Thanks for stopping by today and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

The Paper Players....Happy Birthday

Happy Friday Peeps!!
Hope you all have some fun planned for the weekend!
I am away for a girls weekend, got a couple of post scheduled for your viewing pleasure!!! lol!

This card was made using the sketch this week on The Paper Players Blog.
I pulled out a Stampin Up  retired hostess set called "Because I Care".
I have always loved this stamp, that flower is fabulous and so fun to color.
I colored this one with Rich Razzleberry ink using my aqua painter.
I used the music wheel on the BG behind the flower.

I guess almost everything on this card is retired, the satin razzlebrry ribbon, the sentiment is from the "Something to Celebrate set also retired. The DSP is from a retired pack as well.
I have been enjoying doing some vintage pieces lately, hope you are enjoying them too.

Thanks for stopping by today and
HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Stamping 411...Heartfelt Thanks

Happy Thursday peeps!
Sorry for the lack of posts this week, I have been getting ready for a girls weekend. I am so excited to get away and craft a bit and just enjoy some friends and make a few new ones!

Anyway, on to today's card, I made this one using the sketch this week on the Stamping 411 Blog. I just love the sketches over there and they offer up measurements to help you get started if you need.
I had this card mostly put together and was unhappy with the blank spot at the top. I tried several things and finally decide I would emboss that layer. So I had to take it all apart, but I like the outcome.
As  I was looking through my embossing folders, I found this one, I haven't used this one in forever and I think it is perfect for my card. Love how the swirls look on it. This embossing folder is called Elegant Lines.
I used the stamp set "Bordering on Romance". Stamped it onto some confetti cream card stock with black stazon and colored with my aqua painter and ink pads.

The sentiment is from the "Sweetheart" stamp set.
I added some calypso coral ribbon and I used one of the punches from the Itty Bitty Punch pack for my three flowers. I added some basic pearls to the flower centers.

Well, thanks for stopping by and
HAPPY STAMPING!!!

SSSC157......Happy Birthday

Happy SundayPeeps!!

It is time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.

Here is the SWEET sketch Karen has for us this week:

As you can see I turned the sketch,  I don't usually do that but I couldn't find an image I wanted to work with that fit the other way. :)
I went kinda shabby chic/vintage with my card. I am not loving this one but since my mojo has kinda been on a vacation as of late it will have to do.
The base of the card is Soft Suede card stock and then I followed that up with some crumb cake that I embossed with the perfect dots EF. I sponged this with early espresso ink.
I used the Stampin Up "Simply Soft" stamp set along with "French Foliage and "French Script" for my main image piece. I colored with my aqua painter using Baja Blue and Old Olive for the flower.
The DSP strips are from the Pocketful of Posie pack and the sentiment is from the Something to Celebrate stamp set.

I hope you can find some time to play along with us this week, I would love to see what you come up with, create a card or scrapbook page with this sketch and then go to Karen's blog and link up your project for all of us to see.

OK, let's see what the rest of the Sweet Sunday Sketch Team, and Guest Designer has in store for us this week:

Sarah-Jane-Janeybell -Sarah is off on a vacation adventure, but swing by and leave her some love anyway.

Happy Saturday peeps!!!
It is time for another new challenge at  Our Creative Corner
This week out hostess is Rudlis from Love Life and Craft and she has a pretty inspiration challenge for us.

Make a project, card or tag inspired by the photo.

I pulled out the Stampin Up "Kindness Matters" stamp set to use.
Love the pretty butterflies in this set. I stamped them with brown stazon onto some confetti card stock and then used my French Script BG stamp with the brown stazon to stamp over the butterfly piece.
I used my aqua painter and ink pads to color the butterflies.

I used some Crumb cake card stock for the base and then followed that with some Soft suede card stock. The DSP is from a retired pack and I cut a pretty doily out of crumb cake for the next layer.
I added some twill ribbon and some basic pearls.

Be sure to check the Our Creative Corner Blog

CAS for The Paper Players

Good Monday Morning Peeps!!
Hope you had a good weekend and are all safe. The weather has been BUMPY lately,  in our area we were LUCKY to not have any major or severe storms. Lots or rain and or course thunderstorms and some hail, and flooding, but no tornadoes. Others here in the Midwest were not as fortunate, my heart goes out to all that has sustained loses.

Today I am sharing a card I made using the challenge on  The Paper Players Blog this week.
The challenge is a Clean and Simple (CAS) with a twist. Create a Clean and Simple project using watercoloring!
Well, you all know I LOVE to watercolor, and you also know that I have a bit of a struggle with Clean & Simple. But heck, I am up for a challenge. Since Stampin Up released their retiring list yesterday I decide to use a "retiring" set. This one is called "Every Moment". It is a favorite of mine, even tho it has not gotten much love lately, I am very fond of this daisy!
I stamped the daisy onto some Confetti card stock with black stazon and colored with my daffodil delight ink pad and a bit of crushed curry too. The center is colored with soft suede and some early espresso. I added the dots in with my black marker. The stem is a bit of old olive. Very easy peasy on this daisy!

The sentiment is from the Petite Pairs stamp set and then I cut out with the Labels Framelits die.
The base of the card is Daffodil Delight and then a layer of Confetti card stock that I embossed with the stripes EF. I then added some daffodil delight seam binding ribbon and tied a bow.
I cut another label with daffodil and embossed this with the square lattice EF.
Each layer of the labels is put on with dimesionals, and the gold pearls are non SU.

Well, that is it, a CAS and easily mailable card.
Be sure and check out the retirement list posted on my sidebar and let me know if you need anything before it is gone!! Alot of retiring stamp sets, some I am sorry to see go, but I am sure there will be some equally fun and beautiful sets coming up in the new catalog, I am excited for that!!
Leave me a comment and let me know if you like this CAS card or do you prefer my more "fussy' cards?
Thanks for stopping by today and

HAPPY STAMPING!!

Stamping 411......Happy Birthday

Happy Sunday Peeps!
Today I am sharing a card I made using the sketch challenge this week on the Stamping 411 Blog.

I pulled out my  neglected Stampin Up Mocha Morning Specialty Paper. this paper is so pretty and rich and has such a vintage feel to it. I love it and really that is why I haven't used it much. I just hate cutting into it.
I started this card with a base of Soft suede card stock and then I used a piece of Crumb Cake card stock that I embossed with the square lattice EF. I then used two patterns from the Morning Mocha, both matted with Soft Suede card stock.

The only change I made with the sketch was to put my bow at the top instead of the bottom of my card, as that worked best with my main image panel.
The flowers are from the Stampin Up "Elements of Style" stamp set. I stamped with timber brown stazon onto some Confetti Cream card stock. I then used my aqua painter and ink pads to color. I used Blushing Bride and Old Olive Ink. I then outlined a bit with Crumb Cake ink. The sentiment on here comes from the Create a Cupcake stamp set.
I added alot of basic pearls and the ribbon is Crumb Cake taffeta.
Well, thanks for stopping by today and
HAPPY STAMPING!!!

A Note of Thanks

Happy Thursday Peeps!
Today I am sharing a card I made using a couple of challenges. I used the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge and this week's color challenge on  The Paper Players Blog.

The color challenge is Not Quite Navy, Pool Party and Certainly Celery, a pretty color combo.
I started my card with a base of Pool Party card stock and followed that with some Not Quite Navy card stock. The Certainly Celery DSP is from the Soft Subtles Patterns Pack.
I then used some not Quite Navy card stock that I embossed with the square lattice EF. I added a strip of Pool Party and some more DSP, this Pool Party piece is from the Attic Boutique pack.

I pulled out a sweet little single stamp from Stampin Up called Triple Treat flower. This pretty little stamp had never been inked!! I stamped the flower three times, using each of the colors from the color challenge. I used my large fancy lower punch, my 5 petal flower punch, and  my 1/2 inch circle punch to punch out the flower layers. I added a dimensional between each layer and a tiny silver brad to the center circle.

I mounted the flower to an embossed scallop circle made with my 2-3/8" circle scallop punch.
The little sentiment is from the Thank You Kindly stamp set. I used some pool party seam binding ribbon across the top and to tie the bow. I added a silver brad to each corner.

Well, that is all from me today, thanks for stopping by and
HAPPY STAMPING!!!

411 Sketch......You & Me

Happy Tuesday Peeps!!

Today I am sharing  a card made using the sketch challenge this week on the Stamping 411 Blog.

I love the papers and colors in the Stampin Up Attic Boutique DSP pack. You can make something shabby chic, bright and cheery or soft and sweet like my card today.
I started with a base of confetti white and then followed that with some pool party and then the DSP. The pretty yellow piece is from the same pack.
I used the confetti white to make the doily, love that doily die, even tho you have to work it a bit to get out all the little pieces, it is soooo worth it in my opinion.

The sentiment on here comes from Friendly Words wheel. I had cut it apart a while back and this is just one of the sentiments I got from the wheel.
I stamped and colored the flowers from the Bordering on Romance stamp set. I then cut it out and mounted above the sentiment circle piece.

I added some daffodil delight ribbon and some basic pearls to finish it off.
Well, that is it from me today, thanks for stopping by and
HAPPY STAMPING!!!

SSSC156....Happy Easter

Happy Easter Peeps!!

It is time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.

Here is the SWEET sketch Karen has for us this week, designed by our own Sweet Stamper Lynn :

I LOVE this sketch, it reminds me of a sweet little garden flag.
I had to, of course, use this adorable little Stampin Up set called "Everybunny"
The base of the card is confetti cream card stock and then I followed that with some lucky limeade and the DSP is from the Everyday Enchantment pack.

The "banners" are pool party card stock that I embossed with the square lattice EF. I added three little punched flowers to the end of each banner.
I stamped the sweet little bunny with black stazon onto some confetti card stock and colored her with my aqua painter and ink pads. I made my center element rounded at the top by using a circle nestie and just inserting the top.
I used some crochet trim to tie across the card and tie a bow.

OCC....In Your Easter Bonnet

Happy Saturday Peeps!!
It is time for another new challenge over at Our Creative Corner.
This week our hostess is the fabulous Marcy Kimiski.
Here is her challenge for us:

"In Your Easter Bonnet" challenge for you this week,
is to design a card/project that is inspired by a frilly Easter bonnet.
Use elements that you would put onto your own bonnet, such as lace, flowers, pearls, etc.

I pulled out a retired  Stampin Up set, that I love,  called "Abundant Hope". You all know I love to watercolor and these daffodils are so pretty, I used daffodil delight and a bit of pumpkin pie for the flower heads, the leaves are colored with wild wasabi.
I stamped the flower images again on another piece of card stock and colored and cut out and added to the image with some dimesionals.
My "Easter Bonnet" elements are the lace doily, daffodil ribbon and the pretty pearls.

Be sure to check the Our Creative Corner Blog
to see what the rest of the design team came up with for this fun challenge.
I hope you can find some time to play along and if you do, don't forget to link it up over on the Our Creative Corner Blog so we can all see it!

Sending Love & Sympathy

Happy Friday Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a sympathy card I made this week. These are the kind of cards we don't like to have to make but sometimes they are a needed. I needed one this week.

I used the Stampin Up set called "Love & Sympathy" and made this CAS card.
The base of the card is basic black and then the next layer is some white card stock that I embossed with the vintage wall EF.
I used some real red card stock for a pop of color and also pulled out some items I got awhile back and have not used much. The scallop and heart embossed strips are made with these. I used the Adorning Accents edgelit and embossing strips.
The main image I colored with my markers and stamped onto whisper white card stock. I used some tiny silver brads on the main panel as well.
I finished it off with some basic black satin ribbon and silver pearls.
Well, that is it from me for now, thanks for stopping by and
HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Simply Wonderful

Happy Thursday Peeps!!!
Sorry I have been MIA here on the blog this week, I have been crafting, not paper crafting, but still crafting, I will show you what I have been up to later.

I did take some time out this morning to put together this card using the Stamping 411 sketch Challenge.
I decide to go a bit whimsical with my layout. I really hate trying to line up small squares and getting it all centered on the base. So a better way for me was to NOT do that. I just tilted my squares, so not worries but it being perfectly lined up!!

The base of the card is Island Indigo card stock and then a layer of whisper white that I embossed with the perfect dot EF.
The squares are made with punches The scallop square in lucky limeade, rich razzleberry, tangerine tango and island indigo. Then a 1-1/4 inch square punch of white layered onto the scallop square.
The centers are made with a stamp from the Mixed Bunch stamp set. I stamped with razzleberry, tangerine and indigo inks. I used my 1 inch circle punch to punch these out. They are each layered onto a 1-1/4 inch circle of the same color. I off set the circles a bit, keeping with my theme of not lining everything up.
The sentiment is from the "Everyday Phrases" stamp set.
I added some basic rhinestones and some Island Indigo ruffled ribbon.
Simply and sweet, I think!
Thanks for stopping by today and
HAPPY STAMPING

Thanks and a Winner

Happy Sunday Peeps!!

Hope your weekend has been good! It is heating up here and yesterday we had the air on. Way to early for that but it was miserable with out it!

Today I am sharing a card I made last week and hadn't shared yet.
I used last weeks Stamping 411 sketch challenge for my layout. I used a retired Stampin Up Hostess set called "Love & Care". I love the flowers in this set. I used concord crush for the flowers and old olive for the stems and leaves. I was inspired by some lilacs blooming in my yard to use this color pallet.

Here is a picture of some I got off a bush in my yard this past week:

They are a full month early blooming this year and they are almost gone today.
Anyway I don't have a Lilac stamp so I just used a pretty flower stamp I had.
The DSP on my card is from the "Sweet Shop" paper pack.

Also I wanted to announce the winner of the free issue of Paper Crafters Sampler from the Blog Hop.
Random Org. chose #11 which is Dawn Easton..... Dawn Easton said...
Oh my goodness, this is fantastic, Vicki!!!
Thank you Dawn, look for an e-mail from Melanie with your free issue.

Thanks for all who visited the Hop and left such sweet comments, you know I love you all!!!

Have a great Sunday!!

Vicki
