Paper Players....Christmas Blessings

Happy Hump Day peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the challenge this week on The Paper Players.
This week is a sketch challenge:

I got this pretty Stampin Up set called "Christmas Blessings" back in July when the catalog first came out and promptly lost it.....I found it a few weeks back behind my stamping armoire, where it had fallen.....so I had to give it some love, can you imagine the horror??. That stamp must have felt so bad just laying back there gathering dust.
Anyway, I decide to keep it clean and simple, I stamped the pretty poinsettia with versamark onto some cherry cobbler card stock and heat embossed with some white embossing powder. I added some small silver pearls to the centers of the flower. This card is really pretty IRL, the picture seriously does not do it justice.

Can you believe I didn't add any ribbon? LOL!
The sentiment is from the same set, I just left of the "sending".

Well, that is all from me today, thanks for coming by and
HAPPY STAMPING!!

Dynamic Duos...Merry Christmas

Happy Saturday peeps!!
Time for a new challenge on the Dynamic Duos Blog.

Here are colors this week:

Midnight Muse and Silver, these colors are so pretty and they make me think of winter and or course Christmas.
I am again using the pretty silver glimmer paper from Stampin Up, this paper seriously Rocks!!
I used the new Snow Flurry Die for my pretty 3-D snowflake. I die cut one of each of the three snowflakes on the die and also used a 1 inch punch to build the snowflake. I used a dimesional between each layer and topped it all off with a big pearl. It turned out so pretty. Love it!

The rest of the card is fairly simple, base of  Midnight Muse, and then a layer of white with some silver trim along the top and bottom and then another piece of Midnight Muse that I embossed with the Lacy Brocade EF.
The pretty sentiment on here is from the Stampin Up "Greetings of the Season" stamp set and is stamped with midnight muse ink.
I hope you can find some time to play along with us this week and
Be sure and hop over to the Dynamic Duos Blog to see what the rest of the design team did with these great colors.

Merry Monday......Peace

Happy Tuesday, Peeps!!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the Merry Monday  sketch this week.

When I saw the sketch I knew right away what I wanted to do, I pulled out another Papertrey purchase, the Wonderful Words Holiday Die and some of my favorite, at the moment, Stampin Up silver glimmer paper.
I pulled off a bit of the backing of the paper to be able to die cut the "Peace"
I love the look of this glimmer paper with Night of Navy card stock, they are so made to go together.

The base of my card is Night of navy and I followed that with some white card stock that I embossed with the  petals a plenty EF (I think that is the name).

The flags are made with the glimmer paper and night of navy and are mounted directly to the embossed white.
The center panel is white and navy and I embossed that piece with a music EF.
I then glued the "Peace" onto the panel and die cut a couple of snowflakes from the retired Northern Flurries die strip. I added them to the corner of the panel and put a silver pearl in the center.
This whole panel was mounted to the base with dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Christmas Cheer

Happy Monday Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card made using the challenge this week on The Paper Players Blog.

Silver or Gold? I had to make another Christmas card. I used a base of some of the Stampin Up Cherry Cobbler Core'dinations card stock. For the next layer I used some of the Silver Glimmer paper, I am so loving this paper this year, been using it on a lot of my Christmas cards. I then used another layer of the Cherry Cobbler core'dinations card stock that I embossed with the Lacy Brocade EF. I then sanded the embossed piece to bring out the core color.

I used the Stampin Up Watercolor Winter stamp set for the holly and berry image, I stamped on to some vanilla card stock with black stazon. I then used my aqua painter to color the image. I cut this out with my nestie dies and matted with a scallop of silver glimmer. I added a strip across the middle of more silver glimmer and a strip of champagne glimmer. I mounted the image to the card with some dimensionsal.  I then added a bunch of silver pearls around the scallop and in the corners, this card is so sparkly!!
The sentiment comes from the Sweet Essential stamp set and is stamped with back stazon and cut out, I hand cut the ends.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Sweet sunday.....Warm Winter Wishes

Happy Sunday Peeps!!!

Time for a new Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge

Love this sweet sketch Karen has for us this week:

I pulled out my Stampin Up Scentsational Season stamp set and the matching framelit dies.
I stamped my ginger with versamrk and crumb cake ink and embossed with the "Sugar and Spice" embossing powder. Man does that stuff smell good. My ginger smells good enough to eat. I made him a cute little bow tie with the heart that is on the Owl punch and added a pearl to the center.
The base of the card is Crumb Cake card stock and then I used a layer of Cherry Cobbler and then the DSP here is from the Festival of Prints pack.

The sentiment is from the Winter Memories stamp set. I used my postage stamp punch for the cherry cobbler squares and embossed with the Snow Burst EF.
I got a bit carried away with my bow and all of it's elements. I first made a double bow using some cherry cobbler seam binding ribbon and then I added a vintage faceted button with some bakers twine to the bow.
I thought it needed something more so I hand cut a  couple of holly leaves, sponged and scored and added them under the edge of the bow. Kinda of a heavy and a bit bulky card and wouldn't mail very easily but would be great tucked into a gift bag or a tray of Christmas goodies.

Be sure and check out what the rest of the team has made with this sweet sketch:

Dynamic Duos.....Snow Much Fun

Happy Saturday peeps!!
Time for a new challenge on the Dynamic Duos Blog.

Love the pretty colors this week:
The dessert option is a snowman theme, I got the snow, just not the snowman.
I decide to make a fun "ornament card".
I wanted to use this fun silhouette die that I just got which is a set from PTI. I know, not Stampin Up, but I have been wanting these forever and I finally broke down and got some awhile back.
 Love them!
The base is cut with my scallop circle nestabilties and Marina Mist card stock. I then cut a couple of white circles and a Marina Mist circle.

I hand cut my snow hills and added some stickles to the top.

The snowflakes come from the Stampin Up Stylin Snowfolk stamp set. I stamped with versamark  and embossed with white embossing powder. I added some small white dots with my white gel pen and then added a few rhinestones.
The sledder was die cut with basic black card stock and added to the base with some dimensionals.
The ornament top is made with the tab punch and I added a piece of twine for the hanger.
The bow is made with some whisper white satin ribbon and a couple of rusty jingle bells.
The sentiment is from the Snow Much Fun stamp set.

I hope you can find some time to play along with us this week and

Freshly Made Sketches....Winter Wishes

Hello Peeps!!

I am popping in here quickly to share I card I made using the sketch this week on the Freshly Made Sketches blog.

I have seen a lot of cards made this way lately, monochromatic with the image left plain, and I wanted to give it a try.
I used Island Indigo t stamp my image onto whisper white card stock.
The image is from the Stampin Up's Winter Memories stamp set.
The DSP is from the Festival of Prints pack and I added some silver glimmer paper for some sparkle.

I added a little snowflake that I had in my stash to the end of the sentiment flag.
Hope you like it.
Thanks for stopping by.

SU Only, Merry Monday Christmas Cheer

Happy Hump Day Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a fun Holiday card made with a couple of challenges in mind, first up I used the Merry Monday Sketch Challenge

and then the SU-Only Challenge this week is a Clean and Simple Holiday card Challenge.

When I saw the sketch it made my mind start to mentally file through all my SU sets to come up with a small element for those little circles. I wanted do something a bit different, and I remembered the Stampin Up set called Happy Hour would be great and even better it has a cute little Christmas saying to go along with it.

This card is super simple to put together, I did at first use the chevron or zig zag EF for my background, but when I came to the sentiment, it just wouldn't work. So I reverted to an old favorite the perfect dot EF. I stamped the part of the sentiment I wanted to use and then embossed.
The DSP on here is from the wonderful Festival of Prints pack.
The only fussy apart about this card is cutting out the holly leaves, but they don't really take that much time.
I debated about adding the ribbon.......you all know it is hard for me to make a card without any....LOL!!
I ended up adding some Cherry Cobbler seam binding but it is just as cute without and leaving it off makes it easier to mail too. What do you think with our without?
I colored the little "holly berries" with a marker.

Can you believe how quickly the years has gone, next week is Thanksgiving and then Christmas will be here before we have enough time.
Next week hubby sees another doctor for some more surgery that needs to be done ASAP, we will know more after his appointment on the 20th, but his heart doc say it needs to be done soon, please keep a good thought for us and say a prayer if you a so inclined.

Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Tree Ornaments-Revisited

Many of you will remember these ornaments that I made a couple of years back, they have become one of the most popular things on my blog.

I was recently honored to have them included as part of The Ornament Girl's
25 Ornaments to make.

I wanted to take a minute to give a little more info on them. I get e-mails almost daily about them and I am honored that so many people like them.
They are so fun and EASY to make.
The die I used for the tree is  a Sizzix die, Christmas Tree#2. I think it is a retired die, I got mine a few years back at Michael's but I have seen it online in various places. So you can do a google search and still find it, and if not any Christmas tree die would be cute.
The paper I used is some I bought locally at Hobby Lobby, it is still available, I just bought some more yesterday, cos I love it and I have stock piled a huge amount.  If you can't find it, shoot me an e-mail and we can make some arrangements for me to get you some, if I can.
The rusty jingle bells are some I had and still have from old ornament kit that I have had forever, but they are available at almost any craft store, or online craft supply stores.
The ribbon is of course your choice, in the above ones I used some Stampin UP Cherry Cobbler seam binding ribbon.
I love the distressed look of these, I love all things prim, so these make me happy but I also made some that don't look as distressed

Here are a few more I made this year, no sponging on them:

These below are less distressed and use some beads and red satin ribbon.

I used some chunky silver glitter on the edges of these.
I hope this post answers some of your questions but if you have any more please just ask, I am always happy to hear from you!
Thanks so much!
Vicki

Happy Holidays

Happy Monday Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using a couple of challenges. First I used the challenge this week on the The Paper Player's Blog, which is a fun color challenge:

and I used the sketch challenge this week on the Freshly Made Sketches

The colors this week are perfect for a Fall card but this set has been calling my name, so I decided to try my hand at making them work for a Christmas card.
Not your traditional colors for a Holiday card but I liked the end result.

I used the Stampin Up "Greeting Card Kids" stamp set. I used my aqua painter and ink pads to color the sweet little image.
The DSP comes from the Orchard Harvest paper pack.
The sentiment is from the retired "Four the Holidays" set.
Thanks for stopping by today and
HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Dynamic Duos......Peace on Earth

Happy Saturday peeps!!
Time for a new challenge on the Dynamic Duos Blog.

Love the pretty colors this week:

I decide to pull out the Pretty Stampin Up Ornament Keepsake stamp set and matching Framelit Dies for my card, I haven't used this set much since getting way back when, so it was time and after playing with it a bit, I   know I will be using it more. I want to make some of the pretty ornaments that are everywhere using this set and dies.

The base of my card is Cherry Cobbler and I followed that with some whisper white and then Sahara Sand that I embossed with the Lacy Brocade EF.

I LOVE the tulle, so pretty and so easy to use!! I wrapped it around my layers and tied a bow at the top.
The circle and scallop are die cut with nesties. I stamped the large ornament using Cherry Cobbler ink and cut out with the matching die. I added it to the circle with some dimensionals.
The sentiment is from the "Greetings of the Seasons.
I hope you can find some time to play along with us this week and

SUO....Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Monday Peeps!!

Today's card was made using the challenge this week on the SU-Only Challenges Blog, which is Elegant Autumn.
You all know how much I love to make punched pumpkins at this time of the year and so I decided to try and make an "elegant" card using one. I started with a base of the Stampin Up Early Espresso Core'dinations     card stock. The next layer is very vanilla and then another layer of the early espresso core'dinations card stock that I embossed with the Lacy Brocade EF and then sanded with the SU sanding block. Love the look, so pretty and so vintage looking.
I then die cut with the lattice die and  more very vanilla card stock the lattice piece. It is attached to the base with some dimesionals, cut down to fir under the strips of the lattice.

The leaves are from the Stampin Up French Foliage stamp set. I stamped with early espresso ink onto some so saffron card stock and then cut them out with my paper snips. I then sponged the leaves with pumpkin pie, cajun craze and riding hood red ink.
The pumpkin is made using the wide oval punch and the edges of  them are sponged with cajun craze ink.
The little sunflower is made with one of the flowers from the Boho Blossom punch and the center is the small circle that comes in the Itty Bitty Punch pack.
I hand cut the stem and the leaves are from the bird punch. I then curled a small strip of card stock around my piercing tool for the curl.
The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set. I hand cut the "v" shape in the ends and curled it a bit before adding it to the pumpkin.

Sweet Sunday...Snowman Fun

Happy Sunday peeps!!

Time for a new Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge

Love this sweet sketch Karen has for us this week:

I wanted to use this fun set from Stampin Up called "Stylin Snowfolk. I had gotten this set awhile back and had almost forgotten aqbout it, so when I came across it while cleaning up, I knew I wanted to use it for this week's card. I love this snowman set and all the fun accessories  but my favorite is the cute little mustache. I had to add that to my snowman, he looks so distinguished with his top hat and bow tie, dontcha think?

The base of the card is Baja Breeze and DSP comes from the Festival of Prints pad.
I added three small flags to my card instead of the one large in the sketch.
The sentiment comes from the "Snow Much Fun" stamp set.

Be sure and check out what the rest of the team has made with this sweet sketch:

Dynamic Duos.......Happy Birthday

Happy Saturday Peeps!!

I have been keeping a secret and I can finally let the cat out of the bag.......I am excited to announce that I have been asked to join the design team on the Dynamic Duos Blog.
I have loved playing along with this challenge for awhile now and was thrilled to have the opportunity to be a part of  the design team.

The colors this week are some really nice colors to work with:

I decided to keep it clean and simple with some pretty flowers, my favorite kind of card.
I used the pretty Stampin Up Summer Silhouettes stamp set for my flower and leaves.

The base of the card is Raspberry Ripple and then the next layer is some white that I embossed with the fancy fan EF.

I used gumball green for the leaves and raspberry for the flowers. I used my circle and scallop circle nesties to cut out.
The sentiment is from the retired Stampin Up Happiest Birthday Wishes. I used a copic marker to color my rhinestones.
I hope you will check out this weeks challenge on the Dynamic Duos Blog and play along, I would love to see what you do with these pretty colors.

Get Well Wishes

Happy Thursday Peeps!!

On Tuesday I spent most of the day at my craft table. I had a couple of upcoming challenge cards to finish and then I finished ups some other cards that I had started and not finished I had a few stamped images and partial made elements that was tossed aside for one reason or another. So I pulled some of them out and completed a few cards.

This is one. I had the image stamped onto some very vanilla  card stock but nothing else. I don't even know when I stamped this or why I tossed it aside.
The flowers are fom the Stampin Up Serene Silhouettes stamp set. I am such a fan of Cajun Craze, so pretty and perfect for a Fall card.

The DSP is from the Comfort Cafe paper pack.
I added some scrunchy very vanilla seam binding ribbon and also made a scrunchy bow and added a Bronze Button.
The sentiment is from the Stampin Up Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set and punched out with the word window punch. I finished it up with a few gold sticky pearls, non SU.
Thanks for stopping by and
HAPPY STAMPING
