Dynamic Duos....Feel Better Soon

Happy Thursday Peeps!!!

today I am sharing a card I made using the color challenge this week at The Dynamic Duos Blog.
This is Black Tie week, one of my faves and to go along with the black is the oh so pretty Pool Party.

I knew right away that I wanted to use some of the Stampin Up Modern Medley paper, I just love this pack!

I started with a base of basic black and for a bit of added interest I rounded the bottom corners of the card base. The next layer is Very Vanilla and then a piece of the DSP.

The butterfly I used comes from the Stampin Up set Backyard Basics. This set comes with matching dies I did however not use them this time, I hand cut my butterfly because I wanted it exact.
I added dazzling diamonds to my popped up butterfly altho in the picture you can not really tell. but it is so pretty IRL.

I manged to get the dessert option in this time, I used my fave all time EF the square lattice on two of my BG strips.

Hope you like my card, thanks for stopping today.

SSSC191.....Halloween Happiness

Happy Sunday Peeps!!!

Here is the sweet sketch Karen has for us this week:

I made my circle element a bit bigger than the sketch showed because I wanted to use this fun new stamp. It is a single stamp from the Stampin Up Holiday Mini called "Halloween Happiness".
Any of you that follow my blog regularly know that I am a big Halloween fan and when I first saw the new mini this little stamp was at the top of my list, along with alot of other fabulous things in that catalog!! wink!
The DSP on here is also new and from the Holiday mini it is called "Witches Brew", it is awesome!!!

I did add an extra flag to my card, the one with my sentiment, I had originally stamped it directly onto the circle but after getting it all together, it was just calling for a popped up flag, and who am I to not listen????!!!!!
I stamped the pumpkins, three times, the first on the base with pumpkin pie and coloring in the leaves and stems with my old olive and early espresso markers and then again two more times with pumpkin pie ink. I cut out and added the first layer directly over the base and then cut and popped up the pumpkin with a face with a dimensional. The black jewels come from a now retired Black Flourish jewels pack.

Be sure and check out what the rest of the girls did with this sketch:

Halloween Treat Bags

Happy Friday Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a couple of Halloween Treat Bags I made. I had a request from a friend to make some Treat Holders to use for her grandchild's school party.
I created a couple of samples for her to choose from.

These "bags" are so cute and are very easy to make.
You can get two from one 8-1/2" x 11" piece of card stock.
Here are the measurements:
Start with a piece of 8 1/2"  x 5" card stock.
Score on the short side at 2 3/4", 4" , 6 3/4" and 8".
Turn and score on the long side at 1 1/4".

Basic Box making skills required to assemble
I added a couple of scores down the side pieces to make them appear more sack like.

I used one of the dies from the Stampin Up Finishing Touches Edgelits across the top to mimic a paper sack. Love the look of that.
The finished size of these are just right for a little treat for a school party or even for a co-worker or to give out to those special little ones on Halloween.
They are just 3-3/4" tall by 2-3/4" wide.

Here is a picture of one without treats in it so you can better see the finished top:

The sentiment on here is from the "Halloween Bash" stamp set, which is the only Halloween set I have ordered this year, I had convinced myself that I didn't need any more Halloween sets, but I am quickly coming to the conclusion that I was wrong about that. LOL!!

I kept these fairly simply so they could be easily mass produced.

Here is one I did using some Tangerine Tango card stock:

I used a non SU die to cut out the Jack-O-Lantern face and then slipped  a piece of daffodil delight card stock inside. Too Cute!!

These are really simply to make but if you have any questions just let me know.

Santa's List

I love this new Santa image from Stampin Up in the Holiday Mini.
It was on my first order from the catalog.

I was so inspired by a card I saw by my sweet blogging friend and fellow Sweet Sunday Stamper Jodi Collins, see here card HERE

The base of my card is Early Espresso card stock and then a layer of  white and the DSP here is from the new Season of Style pack, love this Holiday pack!

I stamped the Santa image using Early Espresso ink onto Whisper White Card stock and used my circle and scallop circle nesties to cut it out.

I used my Spellbinders Layered Poinsettia Die to make the pretty Poinsettia on here using some Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive card stock, I sponged the edges with the coordinating ink. and added a gold sticky pearl to the center. The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.

Dynamic Duos....Hello

Happy Tuesday Peeps!!!

Today I am sharing a card i made using the color challenge this week on the Dynamic Duos Blog.

I am excited about this card, finally I made a card I am happy with, it has been awhile and I was feeling my mojo had left for good. I used the new Stampin Up Flower Shop stamp set with it's matching punch. I inked up my flower with Blushing Bride ink and then used my Basic Black marker to color in the centers, after gently wiping away the Blushing Bride ink from the stamp with a Q-tip. I stamped onto some Very Vanilla card stock and then punched out with the pansy punch.

The base of the card is Basic Black card stock and then a layer of Very Vanilla card stock. The next layer is some DSP from the Modern Medley paper pack.
The next layers are more basic black and some Blushing Bride DSP from a retired DSP in color pack.
I then used one of my new Chalk Talk Framelits to cut out the tag that I mounted my flowers onto.
I matted the tag with some basic black that I hand cut to fit.
The leaves are Pistachio Pudding  and come from the Secret Garden stamp set and are cut out with the matching framelit dies.
The sentiment is from the "Four You" stamp set. I added some Very Vanilla satin Ribbon, retired, to the top of the tag and tied it with some twine. The tag is added to the card with dimesionals. I finished the card with three basic pearls.
Hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by today!

The Paper Players......You're too Kind

Happy Monday Peeps!!

I having been enjoying a three day weekend, I had Saturday, Sunday and Monday off work!! I got to do some stamping yesterday and today, along with attending a Baby Shower for my adopted niece, the daughter of my best friend,  she is having her first baby and we are all sooo excited for the arrival of little Miss Amelia.

I took a peek at the challenge this week over at The Paper Players and it is a great color challenge from my sweet blogging friend Sandy:

I really love this color combo after working with it on this card, these colors are so pretty together and of course if I can make a flower type card then I am a happy stamper!!!

I used the oh so pretty Stampin Up set called "Too Kind", I love this set.
I used Crisp Cantaloupe and Strawberry Slush on the flower heads and the stems are Pear Pizzazz.

Thanks for taking a look today and we will talk soon!

Blog Candy Winner

Hello Peeps!!

Popping in here quickly to announce the winner of my Blog Candy and to share a card I made this week for the color challenge on Splitcoaststampers.
The colors this week were Crushed Curry, Midnight Muse and Primrose Petals.
I used a favorite stamp set from Stampin Up called "Best of Flowers".
I love the hydrangea in this set. I stamped it twice and colored the head using the Primrose and Crushed Curry inks with my aqua painter.
The leaves were colored with the Crushed Curry and Midnight Muse.

The DSP on here is from the Print Poetry Pack and the Comfort Cafe Pack.
The sentiment is form the retired Happiest Birthday Wishes set. I made a scrunchy bow using some very vanilla seam binding ribbon and added an antique brad to the center.

Now onto the bog candy winner, Random Org. picked 14 and that was:

Jodi Collins aka Kharmagirl said...
What an AWESOME technique and I just LOVE the colors and stamps you used! Beautiful as always!
Thanks so much to all who left a comment and look for some more upcoming blog candy soon!

Talk to you all again soon!

Thankful for You Pumpkin Box

Happy Tuesday Peeps!!
Today I have a fun little fall project to share with you.
I have had this Pumpkin Box template for awhile and had not used it and when I saw the challenge this week at The Paper Players I decide it was time to pull it out and give it a whirl!!

I think it turned out pretty cute! I printed the template out onto some Pumpkin Pie DSP and  cut it out.
It is super easy to put together, love that fact!
I sponged all the edges with pumpkin pie ink.

The stem is also included in the template and I cut it out of some wild wasabi card stock. The template does include some leaves to cut but I used an old punch I have with some retired DSP.

Here is a little close-up of the top.
I added a bow made with some twine and some tendril I made by curling  a small strip of card stock around a bamboo skewer. The little sentiment is from the Stampin Up "Banner Greeting" stamp set. I added it to a wood toothpick and used my glue gun to add it to the back of the stem.
This will be a special fall treat for a good friend, filled with her favorite candy!!!

Thanks for stopping by today and have a great day!!

Happy Birthday Wishes and some Blog Candy

Hello Peeps!!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using two challenges, first up was the Dynamic Duos Color Challenge:

Before you all say I used an extra color, browns is one of the allowed neutrals, I used one of the new In Colors called Baked Brown Sugar.

Then I tried to use the sketch this week on the Freshly Made Sketches Blog:

I guess I missed a layer, but you can still see the inspiration was there. I did add my small little flags on the opposite corner too.

I had seen a card made with this technique HERE and wanted to give it a try, normally I am not a technique person but this was so easy.
I made my card very similar to the one shown just changing colors and sentiment and placement.

I think it turned out nice, what do you think?
Leave me a comment and I will have a drawing at the end of the week for a some Blog Candy.

I wanted to thank all my loyal readers and all those who have been so supportive the past year. I continue to get e-mails daily from all of you asking how things are going and letting me know that you miss me. It means a great deal to me.
So what is the Blog Candy you ask?
How about this a $50.00 dollar Stampin UP shopping spree.
That's right, one luck reader will get to place a 50.00 dollar Stampin Up order with me and have it shipped free of charge to your home!! Sorry, but this has to be limited to US readers only!
Be sure to leave your e-mail addy with your comment so I can contact you!

Thanks for stopping by and
Have a great week!!

Sweet Sunday........You & Me

Happy Sunday Peeps!!

Here is the sweet sketch Karen has for us this week:

I started of my card with a base of  white card stock and then a layer of daffodil delight and the all the DSP on here are from the Gingham Garden paper pack.
I matted the sentiment piece and and the flag strips with island indigo card stock.

I made my roses with my Sizzix 3-d flower die. I didn't notice tell finishing up my card and taking my pic that one of the flowers was made with a different color. I must have picked up a scrap piece of so saffron by mistake. I added some small white flowers and pearls to the center of each flower.
The sentiment is stamped with black stazon and comes from the retired "Friendly Words" wheel.

Be sure and check out what the rest of the lovelies did with this sketch:
