Card Concept.....Merry & Bright

Happy Wednesday Peeps!

Sorry for the long silence here on the blog, but I 'm back with a pretty little Christmas card for the new  challenge at The Card Concept Blog.
Here is our inspiration photo for this week:

Don't you love that photo, I took my inspiration from the colors, the poinsettias and the overall country feel of the photo.

I started out making my Poinsettia. I used Cherry Cobbler, and Mossy Meadow. I stamped the veins in the leaves in the same color as the paper and sponged the edges.
I used some gold foil paper for the center.

The base of the card is Crumb Cake card stock and then a layer of the gold foil. I then used a layer of Corrugated Paper. love that stuff! I made my banner using some of the Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum.
I added the flower to the card with some dimensionals. I used some of the burlap ribbon that I cut apart and pulled out the strings to tuck around the flower. I then added a few little gold sticky back pearls.
The sentiment is from the Endless Wishes stamp set.
The card is a 5 inch square and would probably be better to add to a gift and not to mail. :)

Be sure and head over to the Card Concept Blog to see what the rest of the team did with this inspiration challenge.

Card Concept......Hello Falll

Happy Wednesday Peeps!

Time for a new challenge at The Card Concept.

It is a new month and that means we have a new Guest Designer, this month it is the fabulous Julee Tilman from Poetic Artistry.

Here is our inspiration piece for this week:

I took my inspiration from the colors and all the circle elements in the photo.
I decide to make a fall wreath.
I used the Wonderous Wreath Stamp Set.
The colors I used are Crumb Cake, Brushed Silver, Hello Honey and Whisper White.

I stamped the Wreath image with Versamark ink onto the Brushed Silver card stock and then embossed with white embossing powder.

I stamaped the flowers with Hello Honey ink and fussy cut them out.
The sentiment is from the stamp set For All Things.
I added a ribbon bow, I realized after adding it and
taking the picture that I used the wrong ribbon,
(I used Summer Starfruit, which is retired instead of the Hello Honey)
It coordinates tho, so I think it is OK.

Be sure and head over to the Card Concept Blog to see what the rest of the girls did with this challenge!

Sweet Sunday.......Hello Fall

Happy Sunday Peeps!

Here is the fun sketch we have for this week.

I wanted to make a Fall type card using some goodies from the Stampin Up Occasions mini.
I love the new Acorny Thank You stamp set with matching punch and
I have had this corrugated paper from Stampin Up for a few weeks
and wanted to use them for the acorns and had not done it so this was the perfect opportunity for me to do it!
I stamped the tops of the acorns onto Crumb Cake using Cajun Craze ink.
The bottoms are the corrugated paper punched with the matching punch.
I layered the tops over the base of corrugated acorn using dimensionals.
The leaf behind the Acorns is from the For All Things stamp set.
I stamped with Crushed Curry ink onto Very Vanilla. I fussy cut it out and them crumbled it all up and then smoothed it back out.
I added some linen thread on top of the leaf and then added my acorns to make the fun little Fall element.
I think this grouping will be making an appearance on my
Thanksgiving Name Cards. Be on the look out for those!

The base of the card is Crumb Cake and then the center element is Early Espresso and a piece of DSP from the Woodland paper pack.

The sentiment banner is from the For All things stamp set. I used Old Olive ink to stamp that on the Vanilla card stock.
I added a bit more Corrugated paper under the sentiment as well.

Crazy 4 Challenges....A Christmas Wish

Happy Saturday Peeps!!

Time for new challenge at Crazy 4 Challenges.

It is the last Saturday of the month and our hostess for this month
final challenge for us is to get a jump start on our Christmas cards.

I had finally gotten my Sleigh Ride Edgelits that had been on Back order and was excited
to try them out.

I had fun making my background snowy sky.

I used some Water color paper and stamped the snow stamp over and over using Versamark
I then embossed using white embossing powder.

I then used three colors of blue to make the night sky.

I used Marina Mist, Lost Lagoon and Night of Navy,

I watered the paper down using a paint brush and then added my color starting with the lightest and graduated up to the dark ant the top.

I really love the look I achieved.

I die cut the row of houses using the thick whisper white and added over the back ground piece using dimensionals.

The Sentiment is from the Joyful Christmas stamp set and is stamped with Night of Navy ink.

I added several little silver sequin stars that I had in my stash to finish it up and add a bit of sparkle.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Freshly Made Sketches.....JOY

Happy Friday Peeps!!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches.

I love this fun sketch:

I knew right away when I saw it that I wanted to use this fun little penguin from the Snow Place
stamp set

I stamped him three times onto my squares. I used the Stampin Up thick Whisper White Cardstock for the squares.
The penguins are stamped with Black Memento Ink, I stamped the accessories, hat, ear muffs and bow tie on scrap white and even those this set comes with matching framelits I fussy cut my accessories out.

I added a few little snow flakes around each penguin.
The sentiment was made using the retired Skinny Mini Alphabet stamp set.
I used the fun little holly and berries stamp to accessorizes my little vertical banner sentiment.
\The base is Crumb Cake card stock and then the DSP is from the Merry Moments stamp set.

I finished up with a few little silver sequins.

Thank you for stopping by!

Sweet Sunday......Witch Way

Happy Sunday Peeps!

Here is our fab sketch for this week:

I love a sketch with a nice circle element.
I decide to make one last Halloween card, I love this sweet little witch from the
Stampin Up Haunt Ya Later stamp set.
I stamped her out and colored her with my copic markers.
I love her sweet face and pretty big eyes, she is not scary at all.
I do love her hair here done in grays and black, definitely witch wouldn't you say?

I keept my card fairly simple but I had to use my new Sleigh Ride edgelits, for my "haunted houses", they are so cute!
The DSP  here is surprisingly not from the Halloween paper this year instead it is a fun piece from the Sweet Lil' Things paper pack.

Be sure and hop over to the Sweet Sunday Blog
and see what the rest of the girls did with this sketch!

Crazy 4 Challenges......Thankful

Happy Saturday Peeps!!

Time for a new challenge at Cray 4 Challenges,
this  week our hostess has a beautiful fall color challenge for us!

Of course you don't have to do fall, but that is the direction I went.

I pulled out my Stampin Up Sheltering Tree stamp set to make my card.
I stamped my tree with Soft Suede ink and added the ground in with some Old Olive ink..
The leaves are done with Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie inks.
I added a sprinkling of Cajun Craze leaves as well.

The sentiment comes from the Thankful Forest Friends stamp set. I masked off the other parts of the stamp to just get this one word sentiment.
After finishing up with a small banner of pumpkin with some linen thread and a little blossom I still felt it needed some sparkle. So I added some drops of Copper Stickles in among the leaves, it added the perfect touch of glimmer even tho the camera does not show it that much!

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to head over to the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog to see what the rest of the design team did with this challenge.

FMS....Snow Way

Happy Thursday Peeps!

Popping in here quickly to share a card I made using the sketch this week at The Freshly Made Sketches.

The graphic on the sketch made me think of Christmas so
I decide to pull out my Stampin Up Snow Place.

I got this set strictly for the penguin (altho the rest of the images are super cute!) So anyway I had to use the penguin first.
I have to also tell you the little stamp with the holly leaves and berries has become my favorite hidden gem in the entire mini catalog. I mean really how CUTE is it!!!??

The base of the card is Pool Party card stock and then the main panel is Very Vanilla card stock

The DSP is from the Home for the Holidays paper pack.

Don't you love that cute sentiment?

The Card Concept....Sympathy

Happy Wednesday Peeps!

Time for a new challenge at The Card Concept.

Here is our wonderful inspiration photo for this challenge:

I took my inspiration from the beautiful palette and of course the flowers.

I found myself in need of a Sympathy card this past week so I decided to use
this challenge for my card.
I pulled out my most loved stamp from Stampin Up called Best Thoughts.
I used a couple of retired colors on my card, I used some Regal rose and just a bit of Bravo Burgundy. I did not have my Burgundy ink pad any longer but still had the marker so I scribbled a bit onto a clear block to use.
I stamped the flower image onto some Naturals cardstock with Black Stazon and colored using my aqua painter and inks.
The leaves are Old Olive and I used my white gel pen to color the stamens.

The base of the card is Early espresso and then I dug into my stash of retired DSP to find some
Bravo Burgundy paper.
I matted this with some of the Naturals cardstock.
The main panel is matted with Early Espresso card stock.
The sentiment is from the retired Heartfelt Sympathy stamp set.
I used some mini silver brads here and there.
I cut off the prongs on the brads and then used a bit of glue to add the tops.

Sweet Sunday.....Hello Fall

Happy Sunday Peeps!!

Time for a new Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge
Here is our fab sketch this week:

Fall is in the air, it has been beautiful here in Southwest Missouri this past week and the trees are just starting to put on their Fall show! I can not deny that Fall is my absolute favorite time of the year.
So when I was thinking about this sketch I first (of course) thought about flowers, you all know that is my fave, but with fall coming around I wanted to do some pretty leaves.
I asked a friend to borrow this great set, For All Things, to make my card.
Somehow I have gotten to a point that I don't have a pretty fall leaf set. So my friend was happy to lend me hers.

I stamped my leaves using Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze and Elegant Eggplant onto some Naturals Very Vanilla card stock..
I fussy cut them out and set aside to use on my card

The base of the card is Soft Suede and then a layer of vanilla and then another layer of Soft Sued that I embossed using the Woodland Textured EF. So love this Embossing Folder.

I added the sentiment using Elegant Eggplant ink, it is from the same stamp set.
I added a bit of linen thread and a few gold sequins.
The leaves are added using dimensionals on the Crushed Curry leaf and the Cajun Craze leaf.
The Eggplant colored leaf is tucked under the sentiment panel and glued directly to the embossed layer.
Be sure and head over to the Sweet Sunday Blog to see what the rest of the team did with this great sketch.

Happy Saturday Peeps!

Time for a new challenge at Crazy 4 Challenges. This week is sketch week, my favorite!

And here it is:

I was thinking Christmas this week with my card and pulled out some fun new items, new to me anyway!
I love the Stampin Up Among the Branches stamp set and matching Embossing Folder, so that was my starting point.

The base of the card is Smoky Slate card stock followed with some of the thick Whisper White and then all the DSP you see here is from the Merry Moments pack.
I used some silver Glimmer paper for some added glam to my Christmas card.
I stamped the sentiment with Real Red ink and then die cut it with the circle framelits leaving an nice white border.
The trees are punched out using the Tree punch and the Designer Paper, love the fun patterns in this pack.
I added a few rhinestones and  used linen thread to make bows for the trees.

Crazy 4 Challenges...Trick or Treat

Happy Saturday Peeps!!

Time for a new challenge at Crazy 4 Challenges.

This week our challenge is:

Costume Fun-Images of kids, animals anyone in costume!

I pulled out my Stampin Up Haunt Ya Later set to use on my card.
Love this little witch image and she is so fun to color.
I stamped her with my Black Memento ink onto some Naturals Vanilla card stock and colored with my Copic Markers.
I did the same with the Pumpkin image and stamped her hand again so I could have an extra frog for my little Halloween scene. The face on my pumpkin is from the retired Fall Fest stamp set.
I fussy cut all these out and added them to my circle.

The Spider and the Sentiment are from the Stampin Up Howl-O-Ween stamp set.
The base of the card is Basic Black and then I a layer of the Naturals card stock.
The DSP on here is from the Happy Hauntings paper pack.
I drew in the string the spider is hanging on with my Black marker.
I added two tiny pearls to the spider for eyes.
I then used a few rhinestones and little pearls for a bit of bling!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Freshly Made Sketches......Trick or Treat

Happy Friday Peeps!!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the sketch this week at

I was inspired by THIS primitive card by Laura Mellinger to try my hand at a "prim" card.
Most of you know I a huge fan of all things prim and all things Halloween.
My "prim card" did not turn out nearly as cute as Laura's but I still like it.
I used the little witch image from the Stampin Up Haunt Ya Later stamp set.
I love her, she is so cute even if she is not prim,

I used DSP from the Sweet Hauntings and from the Sweet Lil' Things paper packs.
I think I should have sponged my card some to prim it up more.
The sentiment is from the Howl-O-Ween Treat stamp set.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

The Card Concept.....hello

Happy Wednesday Peeps!
Tine for a new challenge at The Card Concept.

Here is our inspiration piece for this challenge:

I loved this inspiration piece. I am a big fan of the white pumpkins/gourds and I knew right away that I wanted to make one.

I have in the past made pumpkins using oval and circle punches but
I decided to try my hand at a large one using my oval framelits.

I used embossing folders on each oval, creating this fun textured pumpkin.

I keep it fairly simple from there, using a sheet of wood DSP from the Market Fresh paper pack.
The base of the card is Early Espresso.
I added a few green leaves and a jute bow along with a few sequins.
The sentiment is cut from the Greetings thinlits.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Halloween Treats for the Paper Players

Happy Tuesday Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a couple of treat boxes I whipped up using the challenge this week at

Create a Halloween card or project!

I decided to make a couple of these fun little candy holders.

I printed out the pattern, which is one I purchased a few years back and is no longer available, onto some Tangelo Twist card stock and then layered the pattern over a piece of Basic Black card stock and then cut it out. I wanted to make a black one and did not know how print it so the pattern would show on the black so I figured this was the best way to do it.

The best part of making these are decorating them. I had fun using my Halloween goodies.
This one is decorated with part of one of the Spider Web Doilies and a black sparkly witches hat.
I die cut the hat with some Black glimmer paper and the Boo to You dies.
I wrapped a bit of silver cording around the hat and the sentiment is from the Sweet Hauntings Stamp Set.

I used DSP on both of these from the Happy Hauntings paper pack
My fave paper in this pack is this one with the stars! LOVE it!!
The skull and bones are from the Howl-O-Ween stamp set.
I added the sentiment from the Sweet Hauntings set.
I added a small silver bow to this one!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Sweet Sunday...happy birthday

Happy Sunday Peeps!!

Here is our fab sketch this week;

This is a weekend of celebration in my household, it is my wedding Anniversary, 39 years and on the very same day it is our daughters birthday, she turned 29 this year. Yes she was born on our 10th Anniversary. How cool is that?

So this is the card I made for her birthday, she is a pink lover and I am a flower lover so I just went with it!

The flower is made from the Stampin Up Crazy About You stamp set.

The sentiment is from the Tin of Cards stamp set, as is the sqiggly line below it.
I made a bit of a smudge when stamping my sentiment, so I covered it up with s little perfect dot., can't even see it now huh?

Be sure and head over to the Sweet Sunday Blog to see what the rest of the girsl did with this fun sketch!
