GDP....birthday wishes

Happy Thursday Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the challenge this week at Global Design Project, this week it is a sketch:

Great open space on this sketch, so I took the opportunity to try out this Faux Mother of Pearl technique.

I love the look altho you can not see the fun glimmer in my BG piece.

I used some frost white shimmer paint, that was from Stampin Up but no longer in the catalog, under my inks to add the shimmer, I used my Tangerine Tango and Melon Mambo ink pads for sponging.

I love those two colors together!
I die cut and layered two flourishes for my card front.
I left a few parts of the flourish unglued so I could curl them up a bit for added interest and dimension.

The sentiment is from the Build a Birthday stamp set.
I added a small silver glimmer heart to the sentiment.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Paper Players......hello

Happy Tuesday Peeps!!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the challenge this week at The Paper Players.

I started my card with a base of Thick Whisper White card stock.

I then used some water color paper to create my background piece,
I used Melon Mambo and Island Indigo ink pads and a lot of water and just swirled together and let it run. I then dried with my heat gun and and a bunch of droplets of water and let those set for a bit then dabbed off which is what creates the light circle spots. Love that cool effect.

When I first sat down to make my card I had thought I would use a flower of some sort for the circle element on this sketch, (no surprise there huh? lol)
But in the end I did not like what I was doing so I decided to use a butterfly instead.

I die cut my butterfly from Melon Mambo card stock.
The hello is a die cut, non SU.
I used some silver glimmer paper for the other flag element.

I covered the whole water colored piece  with my wink of stella pen, it has a pretty little glimmer, you can kinda see it in this pic:

CCMC.....With Sympathy

Happy Sunday Peeps!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the challenge at Create with Connie and Mary, this week it is a fun color challenge:

I pulled out my new Hostess set called Gifts of Love to use.
I stamped the image onto some water color paper and again onto some scrap vanilla.

I water colored the flower using The Dapper Denim and the leaves are done with the Mint Macaron.
I used the Tip Top Taupe for a wash in the background and to shade all around the flower.
I then used the splotchy image from the Swirly Bird set with the Taupe and Denim stamping of twice before stamping onto my water color paper.

I colored the flowers that I stamped onto the vanilla and fussy cut out and added them over the original using some dimensionals.

The sentiment is from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set and is stamped using Memento Black ink.
I added some twine around the bottom and a few little white perfect accents.
I added a small stripe of Tip Top Taupe Envelope paper along the side.

The front was then mounted onto a base of Dapper Denim card stock.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Freshly Made Sketch......Birthday Wishes

Happy Thursday Peeps!!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches.

Cute sketch and I went clean and simple. I find myself gravitating to this type of card style lately. I have less time to stamp when I sit down at my desk and I am finding this style comes together quicker for my limited time frames.

I started off with a base of Flirty Flamingo card stock.
I made my tag from some thick whisper white and embossed with the Lucky Stars EF.

I then stamped up my cupcake using my new fun Stampin Up set called  Sweet Cupcake.
For the frosting layer I used Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride and Flirty Flamingo inks.

For the Bottom piece I used Crumb Cake, Soft Suede and Chocolate Chip inks.

I then used the matching framelits to die cut out the cupcake pieces. These two pieces are added to my tag piece using dimensionals. I did add some silver thread coiled up before adding the cupcake.
I used my wink of stella pen on the frosting portion of the cupcake.

The sentiment is from the Build a Birthday stamp set and is embossed with white embossing powder on basic black card stock.
I finished up with a few white enamel dots and a bit of silver cording on the top of the tag.

Thanks for stopping by today.

SUO challenge......Happy Birthday

Happy Hump Day Peeps!!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the challenge this week at the SU-Only Challenge Blog.

The challenge is Black and White with a pop of color.

I pulled out my new Flourish thinlits to make my card. I love these thinlits, they die cut so easily and come out of the dies perfectly, I only used my magnetic platform and the acrylic plates and card stock slid right out with just a small poke of a few of the holes on the back of the die.

I added the flourish to my white piece with a bit of glue.

I used the Botanical Builder dies for my Melon Mambo flowers, the bigger flowers on here are added to the flourish with dimensionals and the two smaller ones are glued directly to the flourish.

The sentiment is from the Rose wonder stamp set.

I went a bit overboard with my rhinestones, just cos, but I love them!!! :)

I added a very small stripe of DSP down the edge of the card for some added interest.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Messy Watercoloring for The Paper Players

Happy Monday peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the challenge this week at The Paper Players.

The challenge is to use some watercolor on your project. I decide to messily free form a few watercolored flowers and then use the Swirly flower from the Stampin Up Swirly Bird dies to make my card.

I started with a piece of watercolor paper and then die cut my flowers and my leaves, which come form the Rose Wonder dies
I laid them out n the middle of my water color paper to get a general idea of where I wanted to put my colors. I then just messily laid down my colors, I used Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight and Tangerine Tango for the flower circles. The leaves are Wild Wasabi and the blue BG is some very watered down Pacific Point.

The "thanks" is one of the dies I ordered online a while back.
I die cut it twice using Basic Black card stock and layered them together.
I added a few little sequins to finish it up.

Thanks for stopping by today.

CCMC..........Just a Note

Happy Sunday Peeps!!!

Today I have a card to share with you
that I created using the sketch this week at Create with Connie and Mary.

I have not played along with their challenges in forever, I was thrilled to see this fun sketch when I took a peek over there, so I had to give it a go.

I started with a base of white card stock and followed that up with another layer of white.

My little blue square I made using a bit of water color paper and inks.

My flower and sentiment are from the Flourishing Phrases set. I love this flower in the set, that is full of wonderful phrases with great fonts.

I stamped my flower using Watermelon Wonder ink, twice, and then cut out and layered them up.
The pretty leaf stem is from the Flourish Thinlits and I used some Pear Pizzazz card stock to die cut it.

I used a few basic pearls here and there to add some interest.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Freshly Made Sketches.....dear friend

Happy Friday peeps!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches.

I love a square card and I haven't made one in awhile so I was glad to see this one here this week.

I loved this Baby Bear stamp set from Stampin Up the moment I saw it in the new catalog and I finally got my hands on it.
I have to say it was a bit challenging to stamp this little guy, he is a 3-step stamp and, even using my mini MISTI, I must have stamped him a dozen times and I still am not thrilled with my bear. It is a definite learning curve to get this one just right. He is so cute I will keep at it til I figure it out tho. :)

The sentiment is from the Birthday Blossom stamp set and I think it is very appropriate, a sweet old teddy can be like a dear friend.
The bow is part of the set and is a 2-stamp image.
The little Coral loopies are a die from the Cupcake die set.

I have the perfect "dear friend" for this card.

Thanks for stopping by today!

SIP and Global Design Project.....birthday wishes shaker

Happy Saturday Peeps!!!

Popping in here quickly to share a card I made using the sketch at Stamps, Ink, Paper Challenge

and the theme challenge at Global Design Challenge

When I first saw this sketch I immediately thought shaker card and the Global Design Challenge party theme  was perfect for my shaker card too.  I have to say I have not made very many shakers and I also have to say that shaker cards and I are not best friends.

This card took an inordinate amount of time for me to make.

I used Crumb Cake for the base and the DSP is from the It's My Party stack.
I used my new stitched rectangle dies on the base piece and the shaker piece, love those dies.

The sentiment is from the Build a Birthday stamp set.

My thought originally was to put a few candles to the side but ended up doing the little pennants instead.
I think they are cute. I used a paper doily under the shaker piece for some added texture.

I filled my shaker with a bunch of gold sequins and then added a few around the card as well.

I like how my shaker eventually turned out but it was way out of my comfort zone, which is a good thing every now and then.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Freshly Made Sketches......Hello

Happy Wednesday Peeps!!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the sketch this week at \

OK, I know it is a bit of a stretch, but in my defense one of the design team girls used a square instead of an oval and more importantly I had just gotten a couple of new goodies and I wanted to use them.

I ordered these stitched rectangles along with the hello die online and they were begging me to use them!

The card base is Papertrey white card stock as is the stitched layer.

The flowers are of course my fave Stampin Up Swirly Bird.

I used Calypso Coral, Crisp Cantaloupe and Pink Pirouette card stock for my flowers. Aren't they just the sweetest?!!

The leaves are made using Pear Pizzazz and the Rose Wonder Framelits.

I die cut the "hello" twice using some Basic Black and glued them together and then glued the stack to my card.

The stitched layer is added to the base using dimensionals.

I love how this card came out, so clean and simple, but very pretty!

Thanks for coming by today!

Happy 4th of July.......Celebrate

Happy Monday Peeps and Happy 4th of July to all!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the Stampin Up Swirly Bird set.

I love the kites in this set.

Normally I make several Americana cards this time of the year but this is my only one this year.

I love how it came out tho. When I sat down to make a card to post today and knew I wanted to try to make some flag looking kites. this card came out pretty much how I envisioned when I started, which is not my norm.

Everything on my card is Stampin Up except the little star stickers, these are some I found in my stash as I was looking for something to add to my BG around the kites. They work perfectly, I do not even know where or when I got them.

The kites are stamped with Night of Navy and Real Red ink
. I stamped four of these and layered them up with dimensionals between the layers,
it really adds great dimension to the front of the card.

I stamped the tails and bows with the same colors.
The sentiment comes from an old Paper Pumpkin kit from last year.
The navy banner is embossed with the lucky star embossing folder,

I used some cherry cobbler Bakers twine around the top and also added a silver clip there as well.
I added in the silver glimmer paper in the end cos I felt it needed s bit more sparkle and it was the perfect choice.

I have another cute pic of Audrey to share, dressed in one of her Americana outfits:

You can't see much of the outfit, but isn't that bow too cute?

I hope you that are celebrating this 4th have a safe and happy celebration with family and friends.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Freshly Made sketches.....happy birthday

Hello Peeps!!

So sorry for being so quiet her on the ol' blog, life is busy and I am having a hard time finding time to stamp. thankfully I have a few days off work so I squeezed out a bit of stamping time this evening.

I took a peek at the sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches:

and knew right away I wanted to play along.

I went simple but I like the end result.
I pulled out the hardwood BG stamp and stamped some Crumb Cake cardstock along with a bit of Peekaboo Peach and Wild Wasabi. I used the same color of ink for each color of card stock.

I then cut out my flowers and leaves using the Botanical Builder framelits.
I like the added texture the stamping gave to them.
The flower was layered up using a bit of dimensionals between layers.

I glued the Peach flower to the Crumb Cake BG piece
and then tucked the leaves in and around the flower.
I added a pearl to the center of the flower and a few tiny pearls around the floral arrangement.

The sentiment is from the bonus stamp set in the April Paper Pumpkin. I love it!

The base is a piece of the Thick Whisper White card stock.

I had an email asking for a new Baby Audrey pic so here she is:

Such a sweetheart she is!!

Thanks for stopping by today!
