Freshly Made Sketches.......thanks

Happy Saturday Peeps!!

Today I asharing a card I made using the sketch this week

I thought the pretty flower in the stampin Up Hostess set called Gifts of Love would be perfect for the upright element on this sketch.

I stamped it a couple of times onto some Thick Whisper White card stock and colored using my Aqua painter and ink pads, I used Melon Mambo and Mint Mararon.

I fussy cut it out and added it to my card front piece with some dimensionals.

The bottom strip is made up of a piece of DSP and a piece of silver Glimmer paper.

The "thanks" is a non SU die that I purchased online a few weeks back. I really love the size of this die cut, it is perfect for cards.
I did add a bit of a paper doily behind the strips mostly to cover up a smear, but I like how it looks too. :)
I finished up with a few sequins.
This piece is added to my card base with dimesionals too.

Thanks for stopping by today!

With Sympathy

Happy Thursday Peeps!!

So sorry for the long pause on my ol' blog a roo here.
After a looooong 7 days in a row of work and of course getting lots of baby time in between working, I just haven't had much time to stamp.

I am sharing a card I made last week at the same time I did my faux mother of pearl card.

This is a fun little watercolor technique I saw demoed on U tube a while back.
I think they called it water color splat, or something like that....lol,.
Anyway the technique is pretty simple, just lay down some ink onto your silicone mat and spritz it with some water and then splat your paper into the water downed ink.

Love the look you can achieve with this technique.

After my splatter pieced dried I stamped a flower image from the Wild About Flowers stamp set with black Memento ink.

I added a sentiment across the bottom from the Rose Wonder set.
I finished up with just a small rhinestone in the flower centers.

Very CAS, but very effective.

I have a busy day ahead so better get to it, thanks for stopping by!
